Senior Software Engineer, Platform

Build the core platform for autonomous security operations: investigation services, evaluation pipelines, backend APIs and infrastructure. Own complex systems from design through production.

Our purpose

Security teams spend too much time working through alerts, gathering context and repeating investigations. Oryen is building an autonomous SOC platform that takes on that work while giving people clear evidence, control and accountability for the outcomes.

About Oryen

We are a small team building AI-powered security operations from the ground up. Our product connects to the security tools customers already use, investigates activity, and helps teams decide what needs attention. It has to work reliably with imperfect data and within the security and deployment constraints of customer environments.

The role

As a Senior Software Engineer, Platform, you will help build the core of this product from scratch. Your work will span investigation services, evaluation pipelines, backend APIs, integrations and the infrastructure that lets autonomous security operations run in production.

This is an end-to-end role. You will turn ambiguous product needs into working systems, stay close to the customer-facing features they support, and own what you build in production.

What you will do

  • Lead the design and delivery of core services, including investigation workflows, evaluation pipelines, backend APIs and supporting infrastructure, from ambiguous requirements through production.
  • Architect complex platform features with security, reliability and testability built in from the start.
  • Help establish an AI-native software development lifecycle that uses AI to speed up design, implementation and testing while keeping architecture, security, code review and release decisions under clear human control.
  • Own the operation of the services you build: observability, capacity planning, deployment strategy, incident response and blameless postmortems.

What you will bring

  • Experience building and operating platform or backend systems in production.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM-powered systems, such as model integration, retrieval, agent architectures, evaluation pipelines or LLM observability.
  • A record of delivering moderately to highly complex projects end to end, including coordinating the work of other engineers.
  • Strong coding skills in a backend language such as Python, with sound judgment in API design and security architecture.
  • A product mindset: you can build customer-facing features and translate user needs into technical decisions.
  • Practical experience using AI in software development, with the judgment to verify its output and keep critical engineering decisions accountable.
  • Critical thinking about what to build first, how to test an approach and how to deliver useful features without losing sight of the longer-term platform.

Experience in cybersecurity or another regulated or high-trust domain is a plus. Clear written English is important; Czech is a plus.

Why Oryen

AI and cybersecurity are coming together in a field with hard, practical questions: what should an agent investigate, what can it decide, and how can a security team trust the result? At Oryen, you will work across both disciplines and help turn those answers into a product. You will have a direct hand in its technical direction, see how your work changes it, and take responsibility for the result.

How to apply

Send us your CV and a few lines about what draws you to this role: why AI and cybersecurity interest you, the kind of engineering work you would most like to own, and what you hope to build over the next few years.

We will discuss location and contract shape with you rather than use them to filter you out at the start.
